Jon Cave, WordPress core contributor, created this very cool video shortly after the release of WordPress 3.1. It’s built using Gource, a software to visualize commit activity. I have no idea why this is useful, other than to see the activity around open source software.
But that’s not what’s important. What’s important is that it is awesome. So press play, turn on some music, and go into a daze for about eight minutes.
It’s pretty interesting to see a visualization of a large open source project’s development process. I also never knew of that software, I might use it was work as something fun for when I get bored.
Awesome indeed! It felt like a matrix city and robots were managing the city’s growth and development. 😉
I created a similar video for bbPress – http://blog.ashfame.com/2011/03/bbpress-development-visual-roadmap/
I’ve turned on the radio playing KANYE WEST – STRONGER.
What a cool movie! Looking forward to the 2021 version 😉
