After mulling it over for some time, I’ve finally taken the plunge and began publishing a WordPress podcast, called (of course!) the Theme Playground WordPress Podcast.

I’m pretty psyched about it, and have a long way to go before I’m going to be really proud of it. But we all have to start somewhere, right? I would greatly appreciate you taking a listen, and sending any feedback my way. Show notes after the jump.

Podcast episode 1 show notes

In an effort to maintain my sanity in posting show notes, I’ll adopt a bulleted list for links and things:

And as mentioned in the podcast, I would love it if you supported the podcast (and this blog) by checking out WPWebHost for your WordPress hosting needs. Their hosting is superb, and I wouldn’t recommend it if I didn’t think so.

  1. awesome theme, found that on smashingmagazine

  2. For those of us not using iTunes, can you provide a link to the RSS version of the podcast feed? I found it, but had to dig it out of the HEAD in your page source.

    Thanks!

    1. Ryan Imel says:

Ah, thanks Chip. Good point. I’ve added it to the post, and am going to add it to the podcast page as well.

  3. [...] mentioned in my podcast last week that I’ve gone back and forth, a number of times, on whether or not to develop and sell [...]

  4. I don’t get any audio by downloading the show through iTunes after the Matt Mullenweg topic … anyone else having problem with it?

    1. Ryan Imel says:

Thanks for pointing this out to me, Nicolas. I’ve tested the file and the podcast, and it seems to be an iTunes issue, as the player above seems to work fine. If you want to catch the rest of the show, you can use the player in this post for now, until I get it worked out. Sorry about that.

      1. Sure thing … thought it’s kind of important for you to know as iTunes is probably going to help you grow our community.

I’m going to listen to the rest of the show with the player on the site … what I heard so far was good stuff. Thanks for pointing out the interview with Matt … I’m kind of having a special interest in this talk at this time.

  5. Frank says:

This was a great podcast thanks. A WP podcast was much needed, I used to follow another one but they went dead…

    1. Ryan Imel says:

Hey, thanks Frank! I noticed it too, that there wasn’t much in the way of a WordPress podcast that actually stuck with it. Let me know if you have any ideas for things you would like me to cover!
