The Thematic WordPress Theme is an amazing theme, back-end and design wise. First of all, I’m a sucker for dark colors, whitespace, and Georgia, so you can guarantee I fell in love at first sight. Thematic has all that bundled into a professional and classy design.
Even among all those “premium” news and magazine style WordPress themes, I’ve never seen such a complex and also organized back-end. I find it very interesting what Ian has done with it.
Like any other theme, Thematic is extremely easy to install. You just place it in the wp-content/themes folder and activate it via the admin panel. There’s also an options panel that allows you to configure some stuff for the theme.

The Quommunication team has just released the feature-packed WordPress theme called Video. And boy oh boy, is it sexy.

Ben Swift of Themelab.com has released a new theme called Nature Blog. The Nature Blog theme is a design that features a designated single column on the left hand side with the right column dedicated to content. The blog title is displayed at the top of the site along with the search bar. The design overall has a great color scheme and is easy on the eyes. The theme also features rounded corners which still look better than those hard edges we’re used to seeing. The bottom of the design showcases a repeating background image of a brick wall with grass growing on top which is entirely inline with the nature theme.
The theme features spots for 125X125 ads on the sidebar as well as a nicely styled calendar. The sidebar is widget compatible along with the footer where you can add three list style widgets. I don’t immediately see support for tags but thats something that wouldn’t be too hard to add. However, I think tags should be a default quality in themes these days considering that it’s as simple as adding that function into the theme.
Overall, I like the qualities that this free theme has but feel as though it could have done a few more advanced things which would of put this theme over the top.
Remember WebRevolutionary? Matt Lenz, the owner, is really bringing back WebRevolutionary with a bang.
In the last post about the redesign, I mentioned one of the two WordPress themes WebRevolutionary is famous for, Sharpfolio. Well speak of the devil, because Matt has just released Sharpfolio², a redesign of the first Sharpfolio theme, which is compatible with WordPress 2.5.

PolaroidPress, like all themes featured here on WPCandy, is an amazing looking theme. It was created by Magnus Jepson, the same guy that brought you WoodPress and PortfolioPress.
PortfolioPress is another great theme created by the same guy that brought WoodPress (as previously featured). This theme still has the same uniqueness of WoodPress but as you may have guessed, the purpose of the theme is to be used as a portfolio theme.
