PolaroidPress, like all themes featured here on WPCandy, is an amazing looking theme. It was created by Magnus Jepson, the same guy that brought you WoodPress and PortfolioPress.
PolaroidPress Description
“PolaroidPress is a light, cloudy and artistic theme for WordPress. I added a neat randomizer so you can upload many images and have them show up inside the polaroid image.”
This theme is available for purchase for a single website, say a personal blog, for the low price of $49. But say you would like the PSD, to maybe change some bits and pieces, well have no fear. For $99, just $50 ontop of the original price, you can purchase this wonderful theme and have the PSD included. This means you may make any modifications you wish.
PolaroidPress Pros
- Artistic background
- Put your own images in the polaroid
- Clean 2-column layout
- Tag cloud
- Widget ready sidebar
- Layered Photoshop file with the multiple license pack
- Integrated Flickr feed
- Valid XHTML and CSS
PolaroidPress Cons
- Price, it costs more than the average theme
My opinion of PolaroidPress
It’s a beautiful looking theme, great for any kind of WordPress site. If I wasn’t a designer, I would definitely consider purchasing this to showcase my work. This theme is perfect if you’re looking for a light weight, clean, web 2.0 blog. So why waste your time? Head on over there now.
Rating: 9/10
It’s sad these days… people are buying some themes that only a year ago would be classed as quality free themes…
Well the world is becoming more money hungry.
Beautiful theme indeed. But not up for the task, due to the “cons” you listed 🙂
Sure, looks nice and clean like so many other free themes out there. Beside the polaroid thing I don’t see any reason what this theme has to offer compared to other freebies.
Magnus would have been better of asking for a donation like Adii does with his polaroid theme, now he just looks like a person making easy money.
It’s OK to charge money for wp themes but then they need to offer a lot more then most standard free themes out there and polaroidpress just doesn’t cut it.
I also don”t understand the review here, why would you purchase this theme to showcase your work? There are enough “premium” themes out there that are more suitable for that. They would probably cost a bit more but that’s a well worth investment.
Sorry Magnus, you’ve done better then this. If you take yourself seriously as a designer you should offer this one for free.
