Sharpfolio² WordPress Theme

Remember WebRevolutionary? Matt Lenz, the owner, is really bringing back WebRevolutionary with a bang.

In the last post about the redesign, I mentioned one of the two WordPress themes WebRevolutionary is famous for, Sharpfolio. Well speak of the devil, because Matt has just released Sharpfolio², a redesign of the first Sharpfolio theme, which is compatible with WordPress 2.5.

“Sharpfolio is a WordPress theme designed to enable Web Designers, Graphic Designers, Photographers, Motion Designers, Artists or any creative professional to showcase their work in a simple, clean, beautiful portfolio. Sharpfolio aims to focus primarily on your work, because after all, this is what’s most important”, says Matt in his post.

If you’re looking for a sweet WordPress theme for your portfolio, make sure to try out Sharpfolio². It won’t disappoint.

  1. Why would a web designer use this, though? Surely a web designer should design his or her own portfolio?

  2. Lewis says:

    I think a (web) DESIGNER could use this if they can’t code and need the simple but powerful back end of WordPress. If they code & design on the other hand, he or she should create his or her own. Great theme, would use it if I didn’t have my own already and needed something quick.

  3. @Joshua – 1) Not all Web designers know how to code. There are a lot who can design in Photoshop and such, but not code. 2) Not all Web designs (coders) know how to code for WordPress. 3) Some Web designers are lazy.

    @Lewis – Exactly.

  4. Anon says:

    Is this blog turning into a “let’s promote other peoples blog” blog?

  5. Lewis says:

    @Mike I think those last two points sum up me pretty well at the moment. I guess its due to me being busy most of the time :(

  6. @Anon – This blog writes articles on anything having to do with WordPress. This is a WordPress theme that I personally love, so therefore I’m gonna write about it.

  7. Ali Salem says:

    Guess I’m gonna use this for my website and then make my own based on it.

  8. Definitely considering using this theme. Great find Mike.

  9. Katie says:

    Thanks for posting this theme! This is a great theme particularly for design professionals!

    In response to whether or not web designers should or should not use this: I am both a strong front end coder and visual designer – I would manipulate the theme (save time and don’t mess with the XHTML ;) ) via CSS and change the look all around. That way there’s still an element of YOU in that portfolio!

    Again, thanks for this theme! I will consider using this in the future!

  10. another response to why should a web designer use this is for expediency, many web designers still don’t have a portfolio site up and one may need to quickly secure a job and showcase their work, in any event a theme like this is much appreciated.

  11. Not bad, not bad at all… I really wish there was just a way to have a gallery instead of everything in posts… But its still a great WP theme…

  12. Jewels says:

    @Ryan,
    I’m not a super expert, but can’t you use the “publish page” function to make something that is more of a gallery and doesn’t get mix up as “just blog posts” to the reader?

  13. ernesto says:

    i like a lot the sharpfolio theme, but there´s a way to enable a section of normal posts….like blog??

  14. Víctor says:

    I have created a Portfolio Theme powered by WordPress. It may be helpful for those who want to create his own portfolio. You can see the demo at http://demo.wpesp.com/portfolio/ or the tutorial at http://wpesp.com.

    I hope it can help some of you.
