Lloyd Budd reports on the WordPress Publisher Blog that WordPress is now the sixth most needed skill on Elance, up three places since the last quarter. Elance has revealed that over the last six months, WordPress has produced over $2.3 million dollars in earnings with nearly 7000 WordPress experts listed on the site. Over 1500 jobs have been posted in the last 30 days alone.

  1. While the figure of $2.3 million may look impressive it is just a shade over $328.57 per developer. The reality, in my experience, is most wordpress jobs are trivial and not too good an option for coders

    Agreed on the above comment.
    I too hate the fact that, those Awesome WordPress Developers have to work for way too less money just to win some reviews and bids on these freelance websites.
    If they could earn and get projects on their own, I think each can earn 6figures.

    Just my two cents.

    I’d also like to add that, these freelance bidding job boards have decreased the value of Developers and Designers a lot. The time they spend on the projects is not worth what they are paid..
