Huge. Gigantic. Tremendous. Mammoth. These are all words that could be used the describe the new milestone WordPress has crossed, but none of them really sound right. How would you describe the fact that WordPress 3.0 has been download over 30 million times? Because it has happened.

As we approach the release of WordPress 3.1, the trusty WordPress download counter has been humming away, tracking each click of the download button on WordPress.org. The counter crossed 20 million in October of 2010, and here we are just a few months later with another 10 million downloads.

Thirty million is a lot of something. Either there are a lot of people using WordPress, or someone has been busy clicking that download button for a long time.

Amazing results, shows the astonishing power that WordPress wields. I can only say wow! I am sure it would soon reach 3million + 1 as I am going to click the download button too. Well done WordPrss!
