If you follow the WordPress development feed, you’d have spotted that one of the developers (Ryan) got sick (respiratory infection). Not sure if one developer off would cause any delay… but the fact that I’m reading those posts must make me a WordPress geek too (well at least a fanatic).

Please, no more upgrades for a while. I’m tired of upgrading my wp sites every few weeks. And from what I’ve seen of the admin design of 2.5 not to long ago it looks horrible and is a big step back. Not looking forward to that.

No doubt about it, wordpress is a great cms, but the direction it’s heading and the priorities of the wp developers crew are not correct.

Kinda sucks – having to wait after counting down. But then again, I’d probably not upgrade immediately if its choke-full of bugs (which it is)

I too did most of what you said (feed checks, getting up early morning just for WP2.5, grabbing a phone for internet), so here’s to another fellow geek

@Hafiz – Definitely. I’d rather they release it later and be more stable so we don’t have to upgrade to 2.5.1 after a week or so.

I did just about the same thing as you, checking back and forth. But I think that’s fine, more time to polish is better than a half-baked release.

At first I was going to say that I’m as geeky as you. And then I realized that I checked more than a few times to see it had been released. And then I got a little disappointed. So I guess that can only mean that I’m a geek.
