WordCamp Miami 2011 has been announced for March 5th at The University of Miami School of Communications. Organizer David Bisset brought the news, as well as the fact that sponsors are being sought after:
We are particularly looking for sponsors (or if you know a potential sponsor). Please contact us if you happen to know someone or what to reach a variety of bloggers, developers, and tech-inclined of South Florida. We are working on “mini sponsorships” too for individual freelancers or small companies. We really want everyone to be able to take advantage of this event, which is not only for those interested in WordPress and blogging but also about web development in general. South Florida doesn’t have many mid-to-large conferences that involve web development.
Tickets for WordCamp Miami will be made available for sale shortly. Those interested in speaking in Miami should fill out this form on the Miami blog. If enough proposals are sent in, Bisset said they will post them for attendees to comment and weigh in on. And, hopefully, publicly shame as well. I mean, we can only hope.
You can follow updates on this upcoming even at their blog and on Twitter at @wordcampmiami.
So will you be attending WordCamp Miami this year? If not, what’s up? Weather not nice enough for you?
