Eric Blackwell, organizer of this year’s inaugural WordCamp Louisville, made an announcement at the end of the event on Saturday. He said next year’s event is planned for October 15th, 2011.

WordCamp Louisville 2011 is also planned to be hosted at the same venue–the University of Louisville Shelby Campus at the Delphi Center (Inside the Founder’s Union Building.)

  1. Justin,

We moved the date to October 1st to try to avoid a conflict with Blog World as well as get us a few weeks closer to fall weather instead of the winter stuff we had this year. I do more tweeting then Eric does at @scotthack — but I’ve also created an official account for next year – http://www.twitter.com/wordcamplou

Now that our event has been established, we plan to build upon it and grow it in the premiere WordCamp for the mid-west. We are exploring the possibility of doing a distillery tour for Makers Mark next year as a social event on the Sunday following WordCamp Louisville. That will also be the same weekend as the St James Court Art Show in Louisville, many people feel it is one of the top 10 art shows in the country. So not only are we looking to step our game up with speakers, etc, we understand that if you travel into town, you want cool things to do as well!
