WordCamp Atlanta 2.0 is officially on the calendar for May 6-7th (Friday and Saturday). Last year’s camp was in January, so this one is a bit later. Tessa Horehled, co-founder of the event, made the announcement on the WordCamp Atlanta blog.

2010 marked the inaugural WordCamp Atlanta, which was rudely burdened by some pretty foul weather. Despite the weather, hundreds of people were there, and the event had some great speakers, like WPCandy’s own Ryan Imel.

There are three tracks scheduled for this year’s event: content, design, and development. There will also be a genius bar. The organizers are accepting speaker applications now, so hurry up and submit yours to make the 2011 WordCamp Atlanta awesome.

Planning is still in the early stages it seems, but we’ll keep you apprised as new details become available. You can also follow @wordcampatl on Twitter.

Do you know who really wants to go? Me. It would be my first one. And I know Ryan would like to return as well. Can you imagine the coverage? I know, your brain hurts just thinking about it. You can help such a possibility become a reality.

So, have you marked your calendar yet?

    • Yeah, I wanted to go to WordCamp Birmingham last year, as I’m from there, and couldn’t because it was the same day as the Auburn / Clemson game I had committed to months prior. WordPress vs. Auburn football is a tough choice 🙂 I’ll certainly be there this year.
