WordCamp Atlanta 2011 date moves to the fall

WordCamp Atlanta 2011 was initially scheduled for the beginning of May. Due to the organization team wanting to ensure a larger event than 2010, the event has been pushed back to a yet-to-be announced date this fall.

Not much was said in the announcement, but organizer Tessa Horehled did share some of their plans for the extra time before this year’s event:

This year’s event is going to be pushed back to Fall so we can ensure this year’s event even bigger and better than last year, by bringing more great leaders from the Atlanta WordCamp community into the fold and securing a brand new venue which we hope to announce in the coming months.

We’ll keep an eye out and notify you when WordCamp Atlanta 2011’s date is firmed up. Until then, who’s looking forward to the next event in Atlanta?

I attended last year’s event, which was fantastic, and presented on child themes. I’m looking forward to attending this year, though I will probably be more focused on covering WordCamp than I will be trying to present on a particular topic. Who has attended in the past that will be going again this year?

  1. I plan to be there. I submitted to be a speaker, but it might be a while longer before the speakers list is released. I was supposed to speak last year, but wound up giving up my slot due to a scheduling snafu, and wound up manning the Genius Bar, instead.
