Win A WordPress Hoodie!

Depending on where you live, it’s probably pretty cold during this time of year. Thanks to WordPress, you can now proudly walk the streets with a hip WordPress hoodie. They’re made by American Apparel, so you can ensure good quality, softness, comfort and most importantly, warmness.

WordPress hoodies are now available for purchase over at the WordPress shop for $32. But why buy one when you can win one right here on WPCandy?

First of all, this contest has only one major goal: To help Brian Gardner help fight against Breast Cancer. Brian will be participating in the Chicago Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. This ain’t no regular walk though. He’s going to be walking 60 miles from the suburbs to downtown Chicago. “This walk will be hot, this walk will be painful. There will be sweat, and there will be tears. Most importantly, this walk will benefit women and help to save lives.”

A few days ago Nyssa Brown reminded me of the WordPress hoodies and so I thought, “Hey, I could definitely have a contest to give one of these suckers away”. I had a prize for a contest, but no clue as to what the actual contest would be about. A few days passed and I came across Brian’s post on his blog and everything sort of fell into place, I could hold a contest to help raise money to help Brian!

Now I don’t know Brian personally. In fact, the first time I had ever talked to him was a few days ago. But I do know Brian has made some killer WordPress themes and has contributed to the WordPress community. I want to help fight against Breast Cancer. This is my contribution and it can be yours too.

To participate in this contest, you can complete one or both of the items listed below:

If you donate or write a blog post, make sure you leave a comment or trackback on this page.

Even though the walk is towards the end of this year, I’d still like to get Brian’s goal met as soon as possible. This contest will be ending on January 31st. On February 1st, I will be announcing the new owner of a shiny new WordPress hoodie, our winner.

“I walk because I have been given so much, and I want to give back as much as I can. I walk, because I cannot walk away…”

I’d also like to thank you all ahead of time for any contributions you make to help Brian.

  2. Not only am I in for the contest, and not only will I actually show up and have my picture taken with Brian Gardner and the Hoodie should I win, I might actually try and WALK WITH HIM!!

I just have to think about the $2,200. It’s possible I suppose.

    Much to think about…

  3. heh… I never said I would actually wear it that day, but I would certainly have it there with me for the photo op.

And of course, should I win, you would plenty more link love!

  4. Here in Brazil that’s not so cold. Actually, it is really hot. Anyway, the hoodie is very beautiful. I would like to post about it on my blog, but I don’t think it would work as I publish only in Brazilian portuguese.

Congratulations to WP Candy. That’s a great and important initiative! =D

  5. Hi!
I am a 28 year old design addict/blogger from the south of germany. I will write a blogpost about the Chicago Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk and Brain Garnders journey on my blog. I lost my mom a few years ago because of Breast Cancer too. It’s cool to see, that there are young people outside, which are having visions and ideas to fight against Breast Cancer.
    Thanks to you and Brian!

  6. Hi! It’s nice of you to help Brian with this contest. Though I haven’t met him personally, I’ve had the chance to communicate with him many times via email and chat and all I can say about him is that he’s a good man. Not only as a designer but also as a person.

Btw, I made a donation and a post initially as a way of helping Brian but since you have this contest, I decided to make my post as an entry to your contest.

Thanks and more power to you guys!
