Win A $5 Themes Club Account – UPDATE

The $5 Themes Club is a themes club where you get unlimited downloads of at least 12 WordPress themes a year (guaranteed). And the best part about it is, well, that it’s only $5 a year (with no hidden fees). These aren’t just any regular themes either. With the themes club, you get more than what you pay for. “I don’t release any theme that I wouldn’t personally use. Check out the themes for yourself”, says Small Potato. Want a free account to the themes club? Continue reading to get one!

How To Enter

I’ll be giving away exactly 100 accounts in this contest. There are two ways in which you can enter this contest. The more ways you enter, the better chance you have of winning, so don’t hold back!

If you comment on this post, all you have to do is finish the sentence: “I love WordPress because…” and it will be counted as an entry. Make sure to include your name and e-mail when commenting.

Edit: If you follow me on Twitter, reply back (@wpcandy) saying “I love WordPress because…” and it will be counted as an entry.

Terms and Conditions

  • You have until the end of this month, February 29th, to enter. Winners will be announced the week of March 3rd, depending on how tired I am after Future of Web Apps*.
  • There must be a total of at least 100 comments and follows (between all participants combined) before February 29th for this contest to stay valid.

*If you’re going to FOWA, let me know!

It’s March 1st and the contest is over, but about only half of what was needed to keep the contest valid, was completed. I thought a bit about this last night because I knew there wouldn’t be enough comments / follows by today, so I’ve decided to just give everyone who entered an account. I know, I know, once again I have screwed up a contest. You’re probably thinking contests on WPCandy are a joke. But oh well, I’ll eventually learn. So today for the next few days, I will be e-mailing all participants a coupon code for a free account. Thank you.

  1. I love WordPress because of its extensibility, although the main reason I switched to it from Moveable Type was just because of the blogroll being integrated!

  2. Followed πŸ˜‰

I like WordPress because it has many great free plugins and themes (as I can’t design/code by myself πŸ˜› ). Its extensibility and flexibility is simply rules

  3. I love WordPress because it has allowed me to easily create sites that let others post news and information without having to be a technical genius.

  4. I love WordPress because, like a political campaign, it has a great grassroots movement of folks willing to add to and improve the product. Simply an awesome community.

  5. I Love WordPress because it saved me giving the local Web design company another 1000$ for a template website which only they know how it works or to update it! πŸ™‚

  6. I love WordPress because it’s easy to setup and you can use it for just about anything. Any if it’s lacking any kind of functionality, it’s pretty easy to write your own plugin.

  7. I love WordPress because it’s utterly brilliant. It makes having a professional looking presence on the web simple for non-techies, so that I can help people like my parents and friends without investing a huge amount of time and work, and yet it still provides enough flexibility and sophistication for more tech-savvy folks to be a terrific foundation for more complex applications.

  8. My timing is horrible.

I buy a copy of Rockstar Freelancer and Collis sends me a free copy the next day.

I buy a membership at WPdesigner and less than a week later he’s giving away 20,000 accounts. Damnit!

  9. I love WordPress because there’s so much to do with it.. and what I like best is the community.. Plus, WordPress can be tweaked in so many ways.. Long life to wordpress !!

  10. I love WordPress because I can use it, I find it easy to customise, I love the wide range of support including this website, I love the huge options and I love how no matter what you know, you can always push and stretch yourself further with WordPress.

    I love it!

  11. I love WordPress because it can be easily configured in such a way that when a reader looks at it they don’t immediately think “oh, it’s a blog”.

  12. I love WordPress because…well, I didn’t love it at all until about noon today, before that I sometimes hated it and other times was lukewarm about it.

For the past few months, I have been struggling on the WordPress learning curve but just this morning I was able to complete a weekend project that included fixing several things about my site that I were bugging me. Feels great to have my site just the way I want it and I learned so much too!

One thing led to another and now I finally understand why people love WordPress and I can honestly say I do too. Mainly because I began getting some traffic with little effort pretty quickly after I started blogging; also, now I am beginning to truly understand how customizable WordPress is.

  13. I love WordPress because … it simply works right out of the box while retaining an incredible flexibility that allows for almost unlimited customisation.

  15. I love WordPress because there’s no other app like it — it’s free, it’s easy to use, offers tons of ways in which you can customize it, and most of all, offers everyone the chance to express their views through their blogs.

    Followed too. πŸ™‚

  16. I love wordpress because it is a powerful blog that can be plugged in with thousands of plugins that I can choose from!

  17. today is February 28th and there are only 47 answers [including this one] – so I guess the awards will not be given, right? πŸ™

    too bad πŸ™

  18. but i guess you didn’t count it’s a leap year but that said we still need 53 more till the end of tmrw πŸ™‚

the only reason i remember its a leap year its my granddads birthday he’s 21 years old tomorrow πŸ™‚

  19. I love WordPress and Small Potatoes because, I already use a free theme from him, and WordPress makes great looking, easy to use sites nearly fool proof.

  20. I love WordPress because I can set the date back to 2/29/08 at 11:18AM and beat the contest deadline. Comment (and post) dating is esential. πŸ˜‰

  21. Cool! I second Chris, thanks for your decision.

It’s not all bad though, you got at least one new reader because of the comp πŸ˜‰ Keep up the great work.

  22. So your giving everyone a free theme or just the winners? If so who are the winners and if your giving everyone a free coupon, I have not yet received mine πŸ˜€

btw what keeps on happing with the “Top Commentors”, does it reset every month or so?

  23. Mike, you can screw up every contest as far as I’m concerned, I’ll still happily enter them. I rarely ever actually win anything so I think this is great! Thanks so much! πŸ˜€
