You don’t know jack about Themejack (well, yet)

James and Alison Barrett are a husband and wife, WordPress designer and developer team based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. They just launched Themejack, a new commercial theme shop with two themes under their belt and a free theme framework called Bolts.

Themejack has launched with Marsten and Cody, respectively a magazine and developer-focused blog theme. You can use their launch discount code TJLAUNCH15 to take $15 off any purchase.

The team is also running a bit of a giveaway to celebrate their launch, though not the kind of giveaway you might expect. They have pledged to donate $10,000 to charity once they have sold 1,000 of their themes. The Barretts have preselected three non-profits: Child’s Play, The WordPress Foundation, and The Humane Society. The final distribution of the $10,000 will depend on votes from their theme customers.

If you don’t do anything else, at least visit their site and refresh a few times to see their rotating site tagline. Gotta get me one of those.

With Themejack’s launch I’m faced with a difficult truth: there aren’t nearly enough couples running WordPress businesses right now. We now have the Barretts and the Rennicks, but is that it? How do we convince more WordPress professionals to bring their significant others into this industry?

  1. Thanks so much for the article, Ryan! We really appreciate it. So much, in fact, that we’ll put another coupon code out there for the next two weeks: TJWPCANDY will take $20 off instead of just $15.

    Thank you again!

    • I must say im very disapointed in the support offered, i bought a child theme, and its been 8 days without a reply to the ticket.

    • A feature would be cool – I’ve long thought a WordCamp panel discussion on freelancing/ working and maintaining that relationship would also be really interesting.

I know we get a ton of questions about working together.
