The State of WPCandy

WPCandyLast week we celebrated our first birthday, marking our one-year anniversary as a WordPress community site. It’s amazing to realize how much we’ve accomplished in the past year, and how much we’ve seen WordPress grow as both a blogging platform and a CMS in this time. We’ve done a ton of awesome stuff lately, and we though we’d take the time to share with you, our readers, some information on what we’ve got planned for the future.

Last month we launched WPCoder, our brand-new PSD-to-WordPress turnaround service. As of this writing we’ve been online for just over three weeks and have had over ten new projects submitted with many more on the horizon. The site has been linked from some of the biggest website galleries, such as CSS Mania, Best Web Gallery, FaveUp, and Website Design Awards, and we have a growing team of five WordPress developers. We couldn’t be happier with the response to our new venture, and the future of WPCoder looks like a great one.

What’s Next?

It’s been quite a busy past few months for us here at WPCandy, first with our big re-design in June, organizing the first annual WordPress Day in July, and recently, WPCoder. We’ve got two more projects coming up that we’d like to share with you now.

WPInspiration: Beautiful WordPress Sites

At the end of this month we’re launching a new WordPress site gallery called WPInspiration. WPI will replace our current gallery on and extend to a full-featured gallery, with categories, tags, sorting, and more. More information will be released toward the end of October.

Creativity Behind the Scenes

We are currently working with Ben Debnam, designer of WPCoder, on a site for another upcoming project of ours, WPBranding. This service will help create a WordPress interface for companies and individuals who wish to brand the WordPress admin area with their company’s identity. There are still a lot of ideas and details to be discussed on this site, and we’re aiming for a mid- to late-November launch.

So, there you have it, a look into some upcoming projects in our pipeline. We’re excited about our three new projects and we hope they’ll enjoy the same positive community response that we’ve seen with WPCandy and WPCoder.

Stay tuned!

  1. This site (and its affiliate sites) is quickly becoming the top blog for WordPress new, reviews, and commentary. Way to go guys. Keep up the good work!

  2. Hell Yeah Dude! Keep rocking, you guys are doing some awesome stuff. Glad that WPCandy and P41 can be such close friends. A group of awesome, young entrepreneurs who are going out to do a GOOD THING! Rock on!

  3. I have to say, I loved the sound of wpcoder when I first heard of it. But after sending 2 emails via the contact form I got no response, so went somewhere else. It fills a niche, but you got to have confidence in the people that are providing the service, and ignoring the emails of someone who had a job ready to go is not a great way to inspire confidence.
