Siobhan McKeown planning Words for WordPress copywriting business launch

Moments ago WordPress blogger Siobhan McKeown announced her intentions to launch a new business soon called Words for WordPress, a copywriting service specifically for WordPress. Right now only a landing page is there, where she will happily accept your email address. Details aren’t clear yet, but presumably a “copywriting service” would cover standard blogging, documentation, and marketing materials.

McKeown certainly has the writing credentials for a service like this, having written dozens of posts — likely hundreds by now — for WPMU.org, the blogging-focused sister site to WPMU DEV.

Fun fact: McKeown is using Launch Effect, a launch theme that we reviewed last week. When it launches, would you say this sort of WordPress-specific copywriting service will be interesting to you? Could your WordPress use a few more Words?

  1. Thanks for the coverage Ryan! Yes, I am using the launch effect theme. I wasn’t planning on launching the thing until next week but I figured I might as well use launch effect and tease the site first.

We’ll be offering docs, tutorials, blogging and lots of other fun stuff (fun if you like making sentences, which I do). More to be revealed very soon!

Definitely! It’s all to easy to get excited about technology and not think about the less tech-minded user that might be on the other end. Having someone who understands that well and can write great copy (and Siobhan is definitely that) is invaluable!

  3. This will be a huge hit, and I’m glad that we managed to get a hold of them before this post went live! Having someone on our side to help us create solid docs and copy for our project Infinity, gives us more time to focus on the stuff we like to do best, and there’s no way we could write that stuff any better anyways!
