WordPress developer Pär Thernström has released a new plugin called Simple Front End Edit Buttons that aims to simplify the task of editing pages on a WordPress site by allowing them to be edited from the front end of the site, also known as the public view of the site. With the plugin activated, buttons are added next to page titles, and alongside certain widgets, to allow them to be edited on the spot.
Why use this? Maybe you’re running a large content site and can’t be bothered to jump into the Dashboard all the time. Maybe you have one of the many clients that have a tough time understanding any admin interfaces. Or maybe you need just one more active plugin on your site. Just one, then you’ll stop, right? Right?
Thernström’s plugin can be downloaded from the WordPress.org plugin directory, and you can follow him on Twitter at @eskapism (assuming you speak Swedish, självklart).
Front-end Editor does a better job and doesn’t require you to edit files. And it’s maintained by Scribu, one of the core commiters.
^^^ that’s what I came here to post as well 😛
