New Elemental Portfolio WordPress theme, inspired by the table of elements

A new WordPress theme called Elemental Portfolio has been released at Themes by Bavotasan, designed “as an experiment [to] develop a unique way for people to show off their work”. C. Bavota explains the inspiration behind this new unique theme:

Elemental Portfolio began as an experiment to see if I could develop a unique way for people to show off their work, using only CSS3, jQuery and Ajax. The original layout and design idea came from the periodic table of elements. Each time the front page is reloaded, the layout will change completely, which I think is incredibly cool.

The theme also loads content dynamically using jQuery so that page reloads aren’t necessary.

You can demo the theme and, if you’re interested, purchase a standard license for $39.97.

  1. It is definitely an awesome theme and interesting that it reloads with a completely new look but could be bad for a portfolio site since most designers want their work to be easily seen and viewed. If someone is returning to the site it could get a little difficult to find previous images/links they have clicked on and know which ones are new or where to find old ones.
