Matt Mullenweg is a winner of this year’s TechFellow Award in the “Product Design and Marketing” category.

Each TechFellow award comes with an $100,000 grant for investment. The winners are to distribute the grant to a start-up of their own choosing. The grants are provided by Founders Fund and New Enterprise Associates.

Jason Kincaid, of TechCrunch, wrote this about the “Product Design and Marketing” category winners:

Product Design and Marketing candidates are people who have designed insanely great products, who have made technology beautiful, who have created the marketing campaign that blows you away and make you want to go out and buy ten of them for your whole family. These are the storytellers, the artists, the people who make our dreams come alive.

The other winners in the “Product Design and Marketing” category were Aaron Sittig, Khoi Vinh, Courtney Holt, and Dave Morin.

Mullenweg also took the opportunity to thank Jane Wells and Matt Thomas for their design influence on WordPress and himself over the past few years.

Congratulations, Matt!
