Lisa Sabin-Wilson announced this morning that she is partnering with iThemes on a commercial theme shop geared for women called Allure Themes. The emergence of niche themes was a trend in our post on the future of themes in 2011, but Lisa and iThemes are taking it one step farther with an entire niche theme shop!
She says Allure Themes is scheduled to launch in March, and she’s excited to work on something that fits her design style just right:
There are a ton of commercial theme companies out there – all wonderful in their own right, but curiously, none of them women owned and operated with an emphasis on theme designed just for women – mommy bloggers, business owners, bloggers and more. It’s not secret I like pink and most things girly and my design style tends to lean in that direction, so it’s a perfect solution that allows me to be fully creative, as well as dip my toe into an area that is new to me.
Sabin-Wilson is a well known WordPress author, and has a seven month gap before she starts working on her next book. iThemes will be the “backbone” of Allure Themes in regard to sales, support, and some other aspects of running a theme shop.
Right now going to the website will redirect you to the subscription page, so head on over and sign up for the newsletter that will announce the official launch.
I’ve officially used the word “Mommyblogger” in two posts today and talked about a onesie. Seems only fitting to get ready for some pink in your theme for 2011 and follow Lisa on Twitter for further updates.
And don’t forget to tell us what you think. Is Allure Themes the idea you wish you thought of? Are niche themes the way of the future? Let us know in the comments.
