Justin Tadlock releases Prototype parent theme on Hybrid Core

Justin Tadlock released a new free theme for bloggers called Prototype.

The theme is a parent theme that takes advantage of almost all the features of Hybrid Core. It comes with multiple widget areas and navigation menus as well as the ability to upload per-post stylesheets.

Other features include:

  • Built-in pagination
  • One-, two- and three-column per-post/page layouts
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Thumbnails
  • Custom background

Regarding Prototype’s parent theme status, Tadlock wrote:

“This is a new direction you’ll see from Theme Hybrid. Rather than releasing many complex child themes that are impossible to update, new themes will be parent themes. What this means is that you can make modifications to the themes with your own child theme.”

A download of the theme is available for free here. You can also view a live demo.

  1. Hi,

Just want to know whether the theme is compatible with polylang and WPML? I tried to use it with polylang but the menu is not translated, any ideas?
