Joost de Valk has updated his SEO plugin, now at version 0.3.1, to integrate Linkdex Page Analysis alongside the other tools de Valk has already built out. The new “Page Analysis” tab, added to the metabox the plugin adds to post and page edit screen, gives ratings and recommendations to improve content for search engines.
In his announcement post, de Valk emphasized that while the plugin update is a collaboration between he and Linkdex, the plugin update won’t require payment or registration for use, and the plugin will stay 100% open source. All of the analysis, he says, is still done on the site’s own server; no data will be sent to any external services.
de Valk explained in his blog post why this update is key to the philosophy behind his SEO plugin:
It has always been my goal to make content SEO as easy as can be, and to make people writing content perform the necessary actions instead of someone else fixing up after them. Good SEO for a site consists of set of technical requirements, a good site structure and then the most important thing: well optimized content. Preferably lots of it. Today, by releasing the Linkdex Page Analysis integration into my WordPress SEO plugin, we’ve come one step closer to that goal of making Content SEO easy.
Are you using the beta of his WordPress SEO plugin? If not, you can grab it from the WordPress plugin directory. If you have experience with it, one way or another, share a thought or two in the comments.
Five days ago I asked Joost on Twitter if he was going to be updating his Google Analytics plugin to support the new site speed tracking. His response was
. He didn’t mention that his holidays include releasing an awesome update to one of his other plugins! Very cool.
