James Huff, WordPress consultant and editor at Weblog Tools Collection, announced today on his blog that he has joined Automattic as a Happiness Engineer. About the new position, Huff said:

I have spent the last month working for Automattic on a trial basis, and I must say that this is quite simply the best job ever I have ever had. Not only am I working for a company that I have always admired, but I’m also working alongside several people who I have always admired.

Huff’s bio isn’t up on Automattic’s site yet, but his own site’s profile of him reads:

James is a native of Southern California, where he lives a happy life with his wife, Sarah. He is a Happiness Engineer for Automattic and a musician at heart. He currently performs on flugelhorn with Dragonas, on trumpet with The Claremont Winds and the Fullerton College Community Band, and on digital trumpet with the Cal Poly Pomona MIDI Ensemble. He has studied conducting under Dr. Iris Levine and Dr. Tony Mazzaferro, and is currently studying trumpet under David Evans.
