GenesisBuddy sees rewrite, new options screens

Ron Rennick of Premium BuddyPress Themes has posted on what the future looks like for GenesisBuddy, the child theme that integrates BuddyPress with the Genesis Theme Framework. Since GenesisBuddy version 1.2 Rennick has given it a complete overhaul and enabled its user with additional Genesis child themes.

On the immediate future of GenesisBuddy, Rennick said:

The two StudioPress child themes that we will not be providing support for are Expose and Landscape. Both of these themes are for photo blogs and don’t lend themselves to a BuddyPress social network. Over the next few weeks we will also be putting together a developer’s guide for Genesis child theme developers. The guide will provide instructions on adding support for the next generation Genesis Buddy into any Genesis child theme.

GenesisBuddy is available for $49.95, but it will only work if you also have Genesis and appropriate child themes from StudioPress.
