Event Espresso now allowing free “test drives” of their plugin

The folks behind Event Espresso, the commercial WordPress events management plugin, have decided to allow interested parties to test drive their plugin for free. The Event Espresso team wants as many people as possible to experience their plugin, even if they don’t want to pay.

The test drive includes the events manager and their calendar installed. Event Espresso will typically cost up to $200 for a full license, so taking advantage of their test drive is a smart shopping decision. In order to test drive the plugin, you will need to fill out an application on their site and be approved.

When you fill out the application to test run the plugin, be sure to tell them WPCandy sent you!

  1. Doesn’t really seem “newsworthy” that these guys are giving you access to a demo but require you to sign up for their mailing list. They can do what they want but seems a little bit dirty to require that to get access to a demo.

      • Sorry if that came off as a knock on you writing about it. I agree you should write about anything that is new in the WP world. Seems like a poor business decision to force people to sign up for a mailing list to get to a demo. Have people done it before? Sure… Just seems incredibly limiting for growth and exposure, but I guess you are giving them exposure.

Anyways, love what you are doing. Keep up the great work!

        • Ryan,

Hope you are having a great New Year so far and thank you for writing about us. It is much appreciated.

Thanks for voicing your opinion. To our defense, we are not forcing anyone to sign up for our newsletter. We just want to know who our potential users are, so we can provide the best experience possible. The newsletter is completely optional.

Providing the best experience possible, also means that we do not spam you or even contact you unless you choose to sign up for our newsletter.

We hope to make it easier and more cost effective for event managers and small companies to have their event registration system.

I hope that helps to clarify what we are about.
