BuddyPress loses to Pimcore for Most Promising Open Source Project Award

Voting has ended for Packt Publishing’s 2010 Open Source Awards category for Most Promising Open Source Project. BuddyPress finished in 3rd place.

Pimcore took first place and the $2500 prize that came with it. TomatoCMS was the runner up and received $1000. The BuddyPress project received $500 for their 2nd-runner up finish.

The Most Promising Open Source Project category was sponsored by OpenCandy.

WordPress is still in the running in the Hall of Fame CMS category. It is up against Joomla! and Drupal. The winner will be announced on November 19th.
