Hosted by:Ryan Imel, Brian Krogsgard

Latest in The WPCandy Podcast

Episode #32 of the WPCandy Podcast sees Brian Krogsgard and I (yeah, seriously!) running down the most important WordPress news of the week in just about 30 minutes. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it here again: if the other podcasts we produce here overwhelm you, the WPCandy Podcast proper is likely the show for you. Very little discussion, but quite a bit news and links.

If you only listen to one WordPress podcast this week, make it this one.

This episode is sponsored by the Typecase plugin by UpThemes and the upcoming WordPress service Raft.io.

In this week’s episode of the WPCandy Podcast I chat with both Startbox’s Brian Richards and Automattic’s Lance Willett. Brian and I discussed the WordPress news of the last week, and Lance recapped the last year of commercial themes on WordPress.com with me.

In this, episode 30 of the WPCandy Podcast, we officially adopt a new format for the official show. In short, the goal is for the WPCandy Podcast to deliver a higher awesome per minute ratio, and be the “if you only listen to one WordPress podcast, listen to this one” podcast.

But that’s not all. In this episode Brian and I recap on 2011 at WPCandy, and I sit down to interview Andy Skelton and Joen Asmussen from Automattic about the WordPress.com/Jetpack year-end reports (example).

You can listen to the podcast here:

This episode of the WPCandy Podcast sees Ryan, Brian, and Daniel discuss the most interesting news items of the WordPress community this holiday week. Grab a cup of coffee, maybe cocoa or eggnog, and enjoy the Christmas (Christmas, and Christmas) edition of the podcast.

This week’s podcast was a bit longer than normal (approximately 90 minutes) so the breakdown of topics discussed below also include approximate time codes, just in case you want to jump to a specific discussion that you care about.

This is a bit of a long podcast, so to make things easier on you I’ve broken down what we talked about minute by minute. It’s just because we love you all so much:

This week Brian’s pick was the very recently released Gravity Forms add-on for the WooCommerce plugin (demonstrated), which he picked up yesterday. Ryan’s pick was the User Switching plugin, and Daniel opted out of picks this week.

What better way to round out a work week but with the WPCandy Podcast? Okay don’t answer that, because I’m sure there are much better ways. Let’s just forget I said anything.

Brian, Daniel and myself are all present this time around, and quite a bit happened this week for us to talk about. WordPress 3.3 came out, which of course is a worthwhile topic. In addition DevPress has changed gears, a ThemeForest author crossed the million dollar mark in sales, and—wait, why don’t you just listen to the episode already?

Link-wise, this week we discussed:

Daniel’s pick this episode was the recently launched WP LifeGuard, Brian picked the Stripe payment gateway, and my own pick was the Featured Image Column plugin.

I know what you’re thinking—it isn’t possible. Could this really be a new WPCandy Podcast? Indeed it is. After a shamefully long gap since the last podcast we’re back at it, this time joined by the newest contributor to WPCandy, Daniel Immke. In this episode we discuss the Quarterly a bit (by the way, pre-order yours), WordPress 3.3 RC1, WordAds, and a couple of fun stories that popped up in the last week or so.

Then we have picks. This week Brian chose the Ambrosite Next/Previous Post Link Plus plugin, which is entirely a mouthful to say. Daniel’s pick was the Headway Themes redesign that went up recently, and my pick (though I’ve yet to play with it) is the Social plugin from Crowd Favorite and MailChimp.

It’s time again on WPCandy for another podcast about WordPress. Of course, saying it’s “about WordPress” is a bit unnecessary right? Would you expect it to be a podcast about tacos?

In this episode Brian Krogsgard and I discuss the WordPress news that interested us the most in the last week. That includes the 3.3 feature freeze, the state of WordPress marketplaces, and how WordCamp Louisville was last weekend.

Link-wise, this week we discussed:

Brian’s pick was a snippet of code he pulled from Noel Tock’s work at Theme Force. Mine was oEmbed Gist, a plugin I like but have yet to try, that I found via Remkus de Vries.

It’s time again for another WPCandy Podcast! This time we’re at episode number 25, otherwise known as the “Too elite to be free” edition. In this episode Brian and I discuss the WordPress news of the last week or so, talk a lot about plugins, and of course dish our WordPress picks for the episode.

Brian’s pick this week was Query Posts(which has been featured on the Sweet Plugin), a plugin by Justin Tadlock. My pick was Advanced Post Manager from Shane and Peter, which I admittedly haven’t tried yet but think looks cool.

I’m happy to be publishing episode 24 of the WPCandy Podcast. Brian Krogsgard joined me for the recording, as usual. We discuss the latest WordPress news and our thoughts on what’s been going on. Oh, and apologies for the poor audio quality on my end; my dog ate my mic’s recording and it’s the best I could do.

Brian’s pick this week the WPAlchemy metabox class. My pick was Drafts Dropdown, a plugin I’ve started using recently.

This week the show was dedicated to (big surprise here) the release of WordPress 3.2. We run down the list of features, pick out our favorites, and chat a bit about the reactions we noticed within the community. We didn’t stick to 3.2 only, though: DevPress was discussed, as well as Miniraffe, the upcoming project from Adii Pienaar.

Brian’s pick this week was the custom taxonomy generator (driven by Gravity Forms) over at Themergency. My pick was a plugin called Search Meter, which will soon be featured on The Daily Plugin.
