href="http://wpcandy.com/category/broadcasts/the-sweet-plugin">Sweet Plugin is Add Admin CSS, which I’ve found to be pretty helpful in a few key situations. Mine might be a small use case, since I’ve mostly used it to hide certain things from Dashboards when recording screencasts. href="http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/menu-humility/">Menu Humility is the cleverly-titled plugin from WordPress Lead Developer Mark Jaquith. It is created for the specific purpose of pushing any attention-hogging menu items added by themes and plugins down to the bottom of the Dashboard menu list.

The plugin’s so specific in its purpose that there are no settings and no user interface at all. You simply turn it on and you’re good to go. Who doesn’t love that?

Video recorded with version 0.2 of Menu Humility, running WordPress 3.2.1.

Is your plugin worthy?

If you would like to see your plugin featured on an episode of The Sweet Plugin, send your plugin information over to Featured Image Column is a plugin that will add a column to the edit posts screen of your WordPress Dashboard. Technically it will add a column to any custom post types you have, but the post screen is the most common.

One tip: if you do use this one, you might also want to try out Regenerate Thumbnails to create all of the properly sized images.

Video recorded with version 0.1.2 of Featured Image Column, running WordPress 3.2.1.

About the plugin author

<a

In this episode we look at Display Posts Shortcode, a plugin that adds a shortcode for creating post query lists within your content.

The video is embedded at the Display Posts Shortcode is a plugin that gives very simple shortcode controls for adding lists of posts to your content. There is a list of available arguments that you can use to make a list of posts based on category, tag, etc.

It would be nice to see the plugin support custom post types or a few more arguments, but it’s also nice to have a simple, light plugin that does one task well.

Video recorded with version 0.1.3 of Display Posts Shortcode, running WordPress 3.2.1.

About the plugin author

Bill Erickson is the developer of this plugin, as well as a freelance WordPress developer.
