This week’s episode of The Weekly Theme Show saw discussion on the Weaver II theme and theme options, keeping themes nice and speedy fast, and of course how Otto really looks ilke actor Tim Curry. This was a fun one.

If you’re into all of our podcasts (you crazy person) then you can subscribe to the master shows feed on iTunes or via RSS. Otherwise, don’t let the slew of podcasts overwhelm you — if in doubt just stick to the WPCandy Podcast proper.

Thanks for mentioning WordPress Grand Rapids and me, the fan who listens to your podcasts. Don’t be offended that I listen at double speed; I listen to all podcasts and audiobooks that way to fit them all in. The brain processes speech much faster than it’s spoken anyway.
By the way, the meetup venue was Mutually Human Software. I hope you guys can join us at a future meetup or WordCamp Grand Rapids!
I wasn’t at the Grand Rapids meet up but I’m glad you are enjoying the podcast. Stay tuned and be sure to leave us any feedback/ideas you may have.
What we were talking about:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/WP_Object_Cache#Persistent_Cache_Plugins
Basically, memory based caching to store the WP Objects longer than a single page load, thus reducing queries to the DB because the necessary data will remain in memory over multiple views of the site.
Thanks for explaining that Otto, I knew my explanation during the podcast wasn’t quite right.
Haha, yeah thats it. I think its a great idea and something I wanted to remember for future purposes but obviously didn’t.
