Today’s Sweet Plugin is User Switching, which has quickly become one of my all-time favorite plugins. It allows admins to easily switch to another user, skipping the log-in-log-out process which can become quite lengthy when you’re testing a site for different users. This is one plugin that is seriously worth checking out.
The video is embedded at the top of this post’s page, with more about the plugin below.
User Switching Plugin
User Switching is a plugin from John Blackbourn, and has seen a healthy number of updates since version 0.1.
Video recorded with version 0.5.1.1 of User Switching, running WordPress 3.2.1.
Is your plugin worthy?

Thanks for the heads-up on this one. I know I will find uses for it. It didn’t occur to me that I might want to see another administrator’s settings. I’m glad you pointed that possibility out.
PS. I really like the animation at the start of your video.
Ah, thanks. The animation itself was created by the talented folks at http://thinkmojo.net/, in case you’re ever looking for something similar. I highly recommend them.
Very useful plugin, when you’re testing user capabilities.
nice find Ryan!
very useful for developing client sites if you set them up with custom capabilities instead of just using the Editor role.
Thanks Paul — I’m liking this one a lot too.
Cool plugin, This will help me save time when testing users and other admins access power over the site.
Thanks for the review Ryan! Glad people are finding the plugin useful.
Happy to share it with folks John — thanks for creating such a useful plugin
Thanks for both of you. This is absolutely great plugin and just what I needed right now. And back to testing.
Oh.. you mean like Drupal has had for about 5years? Interesting
