The Sweet Plugin: Display Posts Shortcode

After a brief hiatus (due to moving and a brief bout of sickness) we’re back on top of The Sweet Plugin of the Day on a daily basis. In this episode we look at Display Posts Shortcode, a plugin that adds a shortcode for creating post query lists within your content.

The video is embedded at the top of this post’s page, with more about the plugin below.

Display Posts Shortcode

Display Posts Shortcode is a plugin that gives very simple shortcode controls for adding lists of posts to your content. There is a list of available arguments that you can use to make a list of posts based on category, tag, etc.

It would be nice to see the plugin support custom post types or a few more arguments, but it’s also nice to have a simple, light plugin that does one task well.

Video recorded with version 0.1.3 of Display Posts Shortcode, running WordPress 3.2.1.

About the plugin author

Bill Erickson is the developer of this plugin, as well as a freelance WordPress developer. You can follow him on Twitter and on his blog.

  1. It’s good to have you back on track with the plugin reviews videos which I guess we all missed those last couple of weeks.

As for the plugin, yeah I wish the developer would add Custom Post Type support to it as well.

    Cheers!
