How many of you made New Year’s resolutions that included “blog more”? While WPCandy can’t help you with that whole gym membership thing, when it comes to blogging resolutions we can. In 2011 I’d like to personally encourage you to consider taking the plunge and guest blogging at WPCandy.
But wait, you say—I can’t do that! I’m not a WordPress genius! I have a secret for you: neither are we. Everyone who contributes to WPCandy learns something new every day. The only unique thing we do is turn around and share what we learn with the community.
Should you be blogging at WPCandy?
There are a few ways you can tell whether or not you’re the right fit for guest blogging at WPCandy.
- You have been mentioned in one of our community link posts. We collect those links we find most interesting, and if you’ve been on it, you’re doing what we like!
- You have opinions about WordPress. If you have them, and they are well-formed, you’re welcome to share them on our opinion pages.
- You know something that others don’t. Or, maybe more likely, you have an interesting way of explaining a common problem. You can contribute to our tutorial section.
- You have an idea for a resource, something like our theme framework comparison or roundup of mobile themes and plugins. We’ll take that too!
We also have an ever-growing WordPress news section, where there is always new and interesting stuff happening. We keep to some standard rules of journalism there, but aren’t afraid to go freestyle here and there too.
If you are writing about, working with, or are otherwise involved with WordPress on some level, you would fit in perfectly well at WPCandy. As far as WordPress community sites go, we think we have a pretty nifty one growing here. Check our numbers, reported monthly in our WPCandy in review posts.
